Knife Play was published on CD in 2002 on the Kill Rock Stars sublabel 5 Rue Christine and is now released on Tomlab with a redesigned artwork that includes the full lyrics - an introduction to the amazing work of this band before the release of their new album "Fabulous Muscles" in February 2004.
The original release of Knife Play came with a cover sticker featuring a quote which read: "When my mom died, I listened to Henry Cowell, Joy Division, Detroit techno, The Smiths, Takemitsu, Sabbath, Gamelan, Black Angels, and Cecil Taylor."
Listening to "Knife Play" is comparable to a tightrope walk between tremendous fragility and an infuriated disco noise wall of sound - that creates an overwhelming intensity. Acute, frightening, and sad - somewhat similar to the anguish in Scott Walker's album "Tilt" - except that on "Knife Play" it is not born out of a dream state but out of the real life.
